Live Blogging the UWSMPH 2nd Annual Bioethics Symposium

This is a live blog of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health’s Second Annual Bioethics Symposium. The theme for this year is “Reforming Health Care Ethically: Waste, Tradeoffs, and Rationing.” The conference webpage, which includes a schedule and participant biographies is here.

The posting will run from roughly 1:00 p.m. (Central Time) to 5:30 p.m. (If by accident you have come here looking for a live blog of the unveiling of the new iPhone 4.0 operating system–a reasonable mistake, surely–then let me direct you here.)

Click here to view this live blog in its own window.

While we wait for the event to start, here are two recent essays in the New York Times that introduce the central topics of the symposium quite well.
