I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical History & Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I also hold an appointment in the Department of Philosophy.
My research revolves around the broad theme of health equity. I am particularly interested in the source and shape of social entitlements to health and health care. Other specific interests include: ethical issues in priority-setting and resource allocation, public health ethics, and the proper response to moral disagreement in bioethics, health care policy, and the regulation of the medical professions.
